The rest of the weekend was filled with a little of everything weekends should be filled with; some more reading, laziness, dinner on a friend's deck in the suburbs, and a short run in which I tried to sweat out this cold/infection. I'm no better and no worse post run but it was tough on me since I haven't done much of anything over the past week. The run did serve a purpose other than looking like a struggling, red-faced mess. For the first time in a long time I wanted to run. For the first time in a long time I wasn't just going through the motions. I may have felt like a hot mess and it may have only been 3 miles but those 3 humid mile may have been just what I needed to push this funk on out and find the next race/start the next training cycle!
chicago pizza with sauce on top is the "good stuff" kind of like running and everything that happens in between

At least you were locked out on a nice day with a book ... with the recent storms and such it could have been a lot worse! Glad you didnt have to pee yourself though ;)
I would of been freaked out being locked out!!
So glad to hear the run was good!
Oh NO! I can see how it is kinda funny but kinda not at the same time. At least he wasn't out playing 18 holes or ou would have been in trouble!
AWESOME on the run... and the DESIRE to run. :)
I've totally locked my husband out of the house before when he's mowing the lawn and I shut the garage door and leave. Oops!
Glad you got in without any major issues.
Beer Geek left town after my first marathon with the keys to the house. I was afraid I was going to have to call a locksmith, but luckily my neighbor was home by the time we walked home from the finish line.
oh no! this is why I always have my phone w/ me. at least you had your book ;)
way to go on the hot/humid miles. it's not easy--i'm certainly feeling the effects of summer!
UGG that is funny definitely now but not then. Glad you were able to get back in.
Ha! I'd have had to go in the bushes. I am glad you made it! Hot, humid runs= Fail! But I am glad they are getting you back in the game!
That is hilarious!
Yay for new training cycles! Me too!
I would have done some stupid MacGyver shit and ended up on the evening news. Kudos to you for having patience and common sense. :)
I would have freaked out about being locked out too and frantically called everyone I know to let me back in :)
That sucks. Tom has locked me out several times before.
All's well that ends well! Glad you had a good run, to boot.
The other day both me and my boyfriend went out for a run, separate routes. I got home before him and locked the door behind me. I was in the shower when I heard very loud banging. Oopsssss.
